In the next little while our group will take the next step in our community candidate endorsement process.

You will soon see an advert on Ethicaljobs seeking expressions of interest from people who would like to join our Candidate Endorsement Committee (CEC).

The CEC will play the vital role of establishing the Expression of Interest (EOI) process for independent candidates for Fenner, Ginninderra and Yerabi. The CEC will assess prospective candidates, develop a shortlist for broader assessment with the community, and ultimately recommending the endorsement of people back to the Voices network who would then be invited to stand as a community-backed, independent candidate.

People do not need to be existing member, volunteers or supporters of Voices of Belconnen and Gungahlin to apply for a role on the CEC. We want the committee to bring together people with different experiences, perspectives and connections across our community.

This is about giving our community a genuine say not just in who represents us, but in how that person is chosen.
