Why does the group cover both Belconnen and Gungahlin, and both a Federal and two ACT electorates? Is this group related to other independent movements across the ACT? What is your policy platform? Is Voices of Belconnen and Gungahlin a political party? Will this group be running independent candidates across three different electorates? How are you funded? I am already a member of a political party. Can I still participate? I work in the Public Service. Can I participate?

Why does the group cover both Belconnen and Gungahlin, and both a Federal and two ACT electorates?

Answer

Our focus reflects how our community is represented. Residents in Belconnen and Gungahlin are covered by the federal electorate of Fenner and the ACT electorates of Ginninderra and Yerrabi.

At this stage, we are in a listening phase. We are seeking community views on the issues that matter most, and how people feel about representation—both federally and at the ACT level.

Rather than pre-determining where to focus, we are starting with the community. What we hear will help guide whether there is support for identifying and endorsing candidates in one or more of these electorates.
